Housekeeping

December 28, 2009 - 08:33

1. You might have noticed that recently our blog has  been flooded with ‘comment spam’, the comments usually start with ‘Nice site’ or something similar. Although the administrator generally takes them down pretty quickly this is just a reminder to never click on any of the links contained in the spam as often the sites referred to will try to load a virus onto your computer.

2.What do you think of the ABC News widget? I thought it was a good idea to include it but now I am not sure…I find it a bit depressing. Let me know.

I found this image at http://www.ellisparkerbutler.info/. They have a fantastic archive of early 20th Century American magazine cover art.

Here is a series of photographs I produced for my Marking Time project in MCC124 Photography and Digital Imaging.  MCC124 is a great unit, if you get the opportunity I would really recommend giving it a go.

The science of skeptics?

- 08:48

This website gets skeptical about global warming skepticism. Do their arguments have any scientific basis?  What does the peer reviewed scientific literature say?

Well worth checking out and disseminating.

Help save rainforests

December 6, 2009 - 06:11

Ecosia is a new search engine powerered by bing, Yahoo and the World Wildlife Fund. Each search you do saves around two square metres of rainforest.

It looks pretty good to me. I have done some test searches and got results similar to those provided by Google.
